Camolin will have a new playground this Summer following recent moves by the County Council to lease land and help provide equipment on a site in the middle of the village. The Community Development Association has been fundraising for the playground and will manage the operation of the site with the Council’s help.

Cllr. Malcolm Byrne had been pushing to get the deal finalised and agreement is now in sight.
He said,
“The real credit for this must go to the Development Association, its Chair Jack Redmond and members of the committee. They worked hard to raise the money and the delays in getting the paperwork completed were frustrating. The deed of transfer of ownership from Health Service Executive to Wexford County Council has been formally signed and a lease agreement will now be made with the Development Association.”
Adding,”It is great news for Camolin and all going to plan, the village will finally have a state of the art playground this Summer.”
Malcolm added that a new playground for Kilmuckridge is also now in the pipeline.
