Festival Show is another big ‘hit’ for WLOS 11/11/16

The show is called Hits from the Musicals but the Wexford Light Opera Soceity’s annual Wexford festival Fringe event has become a real hit in its own right. It is one of the most popular fringe events of the Wexford festival and it attrqcted packed houses again last week to the Clayton Whites hotel.

It is also the major fundraiser of the year for the WLOS so its success is important from several points of view.

The popularity and strength of the annual production can be gauged by the fact that for most people it is simply the “Hits” WLOS has a huge store of great talent and all that was brought to the stage in White’s again last as another powerful and wide ranging show thrilled audiences .   AIMS Award winning Musical Director  Fintan Cleary has compiled the jam packed programme of numbers from musicals which included Oliver, Rent, Children of Eden, Sister Act, Miss Saigon, Sound of Music, Hired Man, Ragtime, Spring Awakening and the ever popular Gilbert & Sullivan.

It was hit after hit after hit with soloists Tony Carty, Maggs Jacob, George Lawlor, Caroline Daly Jones, Des Whelan, Catherine Biddy Walsh, James McDermott, Laura Mahon Wall, Eric Hayes, Antonia Close,  Brian Kelly, Miriam Kehoe, Pat Lawlor and Ciara Cullinane taking to the stage backed by the WLOS Chorus under Chorus Mistress Eithne Corrigan.
